I began teaching at Garfield Elementary in 2022. I am excited to be working as the Reading Interventionist!
I began teaching in the Augusta School District in 2002. I began my teaching career at Lincoln Elementary where I taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. I spent most of those years in 2nd grade. I then moved to Robinson Elementary in 2012 to be their Pre-K -5th grade librarian. With the closing of Robinson Elementary, I had the opportunity to come to Garfield and become part of the Garfield family.
I married my husband, Chris, in 2004. I have three children that attend Augusta Public Schools. Our oldest attends Augusta High School and our other two are students at the Augusta Middle School. We also have two dogs and a cat.
If I am not at work, then I am probably at a sports game or practice of some sort. With three kids we stay busy with sports. Our boys both play hockey so we spend a lot of time driving to and from the Ice Center in Wichita and traveling for their games. Our daughter plays multiple sports as well. If I have time away from their sports, I enjoy reading and watching television.
